Switchtec explains how outdoor lighting can be affected by potentially catastrophic events and how they can be protected
Relay Interface Modules
An Interface relay is a relay used for switching power circuits in control applications, from 5 Amp up to 20 Amps. Interface relays uses an electromagnetic coil to attract the relay armature which can contain 1 or several contacts.Interface relays contain an electromagnetic coil and spring mechanism to overcome the electrical forces generated when switching industrial power circuits.
Typical applications for Industrial are Vending machines, Lighting control, Industrial Heat & Ventilation applications, Pump control and Control Panel switching and general control applications.
Switchtec carries extensive stock of Interface Relays, whose range offers one of the most comprehensive portfolios of Interface Relays. These including SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT, 3PDT and 4PDT with Coil Voltages ranging fr om 5V to 48VDC and 24V to 230VAC. The most popular Coil Voltages being 12V & 24VDC and 24V & 230VAC with themost common contact ratings being 5, and 10 Amp.
Interface relays are supplied as a complete assembly which includes the Relay, Mounting Socket, Retaining Clip, Identification Tag and LED Indicator. These are available SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT, 3PDT and 4PDT combinations.
When specifying an Interface relay, the following options need to be considered, Coil Voltage (5 V, 12 V, 24 V 48 V,…), Din Rail Socket Style and Maximum Contact Current (from 5to 10Amp) Contact arrangement SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT, 3PDT and 4PDT.
